Correct preparation of the solids bin is critical for the toilet to function and compost effectively.
- Select Medium: Choose an appropriate compost medium (e.g., coco coir or sphagnum peat moss).
- Fill Level: Add the medium until it sits slightly below the designated fill line.
- Hydrate and Mix: Add water until the medium is damp to the touch. Run the internal agitator to fluff the material until it expands to meet the correct fill line.
- Alignment (Critical): The bin must be inserted with the stir rod mounting bolts facing the front of the unit. Ensure the fill level matches the "CORRECT" indicator shown in the diagram.

The toilet utilises a trap door mechanism to separate liquid from solid waste, which is the primary method for preventing odours. Liquids are channelled into a removable bottle at the front of the unit.
- Usage: It is highly recommended that men sit during use to ensure liquid accurately hits the front drain. If urine inadvertently enters the solid waste trap door area, internal channelling will still route it to the liquid bottle.
- Maintenance: Spray the bowl with a suitable cleaner after each use to maintain hygiene.
- Monitoring: Empty the liquid bottle when the red indicator light illuminates on the top right of the unit.

- Open: Before use, pull the trap door handle straight forward (away from the unit) to open the drop zone.
- Close: After use, push the handle completely back to seal the trap door.
- Agitate: Press the power button. The internal agitator will run a 45-second cycle to fold the new waste and toilet paper into the compost medium.
- Capacity: The solids bin supports an average of 25 - 30 uses before emptying is required.
- Toilet Paper: Use single-ply or biodegradable toilet paper. Avoid excessive usage or large clumps, as this can bind the mechanical agitator.

Pro Tip: Applying a compost cleaner or stimulant spray directly to the compost will deodorise the bin and accelerate the microbial breakdown process.
- Lift the upper toilet bowl section slightly to disengage it from the base.
- Securely place the provided cap onto the urine bottle to prevent spills.
- Rotate the two side drawer latches and pull the front drawer housing outward.
- Grasp the bottle handle and lift it vertically out of the drawer assembly.

Compliance Note: Always dispose of liquid waste in accordance with your local council and state environmental regulations.
- Lift the upper toilet bowl section slightly and remove the front drawer assembly completely.
- Remove the solids bin by pulling it straight up from the top, or by tilting it backward and pulling it out through the front opening.
- Empty the solid waste mixture into a certified compostable bag or deposit it directly into a dedicated, off-grid compost pile.
- Compost Maturation: The solid waste requires a full undisturbed breakdown cycle of 6 - 12 months before it is safe for general environmental integration.

Compliance Note: Always consult local council guidelines regarding the legal and safe disposal of human waste compost in your specific area.
Regular maintenance prevents buildup and ensures sanitary operation. Spray the bowl surfaces with a designated compost toilet cleaner before and after use.
